There was silence in the nights chill as she ventured homeward from her day of toil and work, bag upon her shoulder, the slight jingle of keys rattling within echoing softly to the outer world. The long winding drive to her door was offset by tiny garden lights and the scent of lilac and rose. As she walked the smooth path and climbed the stairs she noticed there upon the mantle of marble a folded parchment adhered with a seal of black wax.
The doors opened and she passed through, not noticing the tall figure who stood leaned within the shadows of one wall. The doors closed behind her as she moved to the hall and the office at the end which glowed a soft fire light. Tossing the bag and coat within the chair near the door her footsteps lead her to her desk. Fingers slipped along the smooth buttons of a remote and with such a delicate touch music began to fill the stilled house.
It was then that she broke the seal upon the parchment and opened it..

" My dearest DB, I come to town this day for business. I hope to see you this night.. Fondly, Mikale. "

A man of little words but always of great conversation. It would be nice to see her old friend as it had been a couple of years since last they had the time to merely revel in idle chit chat. It was then that the office door shut. The click of the lock as it slipped into place caught her off guard, making her turn around. There before her now stood the figure of a tall, paled man, topped with near black hair and eyes so vibrant they could pierce the soul. Yet upon seeing him she did not have worry upon her face. A laugh lept her lips as she moved forward, hugging and kissing both his cheeks.

" When you stated you were coming I did not expect you to be waiting when I arrived Mikale. But as always you are more then welcomed in my home, sit, be comfortable and relax. "

She turned and lowered the music, kicking her shoes off and opening a bottle of vintage wine to let it breath a moment or two while fetching glasses from the antiqued oak cabinet there near her desk.
He moved without noise, without so much as a breath. His arms wrapped about her, pulling her tightly to him. Holding her with an almost crushing embrace. There was a slight startled grasp while she tried to loosen his grip about her. His hands swung her around, the face she looked up to no longer held that gentle sweet melody it usually had. His eyes had hardened as did his features. Her eyes widened a little not sure as to what was happening. One moments pause before his mouth lunged at her throat piercing into the flesh it clasped about.
A murmured scream while her paled skin thrashed slightly. The world grew hazy to her soulful earthen brown pools of darkness. His grip lightened and she felt as though she were floating. One arm supported her as her body limped in a slight arc over the large limb. Fire light turned sinister about her, the shadows growing deeper and more alive, the embers glowing with a frantic urgency while playing light through the reddened locks that cascaded back.
Seconds only had passed and she could feel the warm flow of something upon her lips, seeping through to play upon the white enamel of her teeth before catching her tongue.
Aching, it began as a dull unending ache thrashing deep within until it burst through every vein like magma within a tunnel, every inch further it became faster and hotter until it was released within its entirety upon her pain ridden corpse.
Mikale did not release her but guided her downward so she would lay flat upon the floor. The writhing within her body, the screaming within her mind, parts of her slipping away as new memories came to take their place, new awareness and thoughts came to beat her mind into submission.
Then at last... He spoke with an angelic voice as though he could weep for what he had done. Two words slipped his lips ~ Forgive me ~, and then once more all was stilled and silent and she was left alone for this time as he left her there on the floor of her office as the flesh died and all that was light within and without vanished.
just something I tossed together in about 10 minutes from an online game i am now involved in... basic creation
